Level 2 Pathway for students who have not achieved 5 grades in their GCSE’s or BTEC’s at Level 2

We will continue to provide a Level 2 pathway for our students who have not yet achieved 5 grades in their GCSEs or BTECs at Level 2. This Level 2 pathway will focus on gaining skills for the world of work so that students will be best prepared for moving into an Apprenticeship or on to a T Level the following year. During the year, students will complete the BTEC Level 2 Award in Workskills, an Asdan Level 2 certificate in Personal Development and a variety of work placements. There will also be the opportunity to re-sit either a GCSE or Functional Skills in maths and / or English should students not achieve a grade 4 in these subjects.

Should students be successful on this pathway and they wish to stay on at the school in September 2026, they will be able to progress on to one of the T Levels that we will be introducing in any of:

  • On-site construction
  • Digital production, design and development
  • Education and Early years

We are also pleased to confirm that we will continue to provide our Level 1 provision for entry level students with high level special educational needs.
